Apply for one of more than 100 full scholarships to earn Certificate in Aging
New Age of Aging and Boston University team up for members-only benefit

Through a generous partnership with the Boston University School of Social Work Institute of Geriatric Social Work (IGSW), the Alliance’s New Age of Aging initiative is offering full scholarships for staff and board members of Alliance member organizations to earn Certificates in Aging.

The Alliance will award up to 100 scholarships—valued at $500 each—to cover the full cost of the online Certificate in Aging program. Applications are due Friday, July 30. Visit the New Age of Aging website for more information.

The IGSW Certificate in Aging program is a flexible, self-paced, user-friendly, and comprehensive continuing education program. It allows participants to complete coursework whenever and wherever it is convenient. Each required course is interactive and contains images, instructional activities, case studies, video clips, and a discussion board to maximize learning and skill building.

The certificate is awarded after five self-paced online courses have been completed. The courses cover:
  • general issues in aging;
  • geriatric assessment;
  • mental health issues; and
  • substance use among older adults.
Licensed professionals may earn up to 21 continuing education credits by completing the program.
