Nonprofits + Older Volunteers = Great Return
Baby boomers reaching retirement age are ready to invest their time and talent in nonprofits—and the potential payoff is big. A report from the National Council on Aging, which examined more than 60 nonprofits, found that, on average, for every $1,000 invested in skilled older volunteers, nonprofits enjoyed a return of $8,000.
The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the nation's oldest program that helps low-income, unemployed older adults find work. SCSEP matches eligible individuals with part-time jobs for community service organizations. This website provides information about how your organization can participate in the program. |
