(Alliance E-News Service) — Intermountain in Helena, Mont., has joined the Alliance. The organization promotes healing by cultivating relationships within a healthy, supportive environment.
Intermountain offers adoption and family support to help ensure permanency for children suffering from severe emotional, relational, and mental health problems. The organization also offers a psychological and psychiatric outpatient clinic, day treatment, and school-based services.
The residential program is located on 40 acres in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, which allows children to ski, camp, canoe, hike, and fish. Staff embrace the sense of freedom the outdoors offers and use it to foster respect and confidence within the residents.
An important component of Intermountain’s mission is reaching out to the community to improve society’s ability to provide protection, treatment, and permanency for all vulnerable children. The organization offers training in topics such as brain development and behaviors of developing children.
Intermountain celebrated its centennial in 2009. Currently, the organization serves four Montana communities: Helena, Flathead, Missoula, and Great Falls. The organization has eight sites, employs 186 staff, and is lead by Jim FitzGerald, CEO.
