Revitalize your organization’s civic engagement plan at free institute
Civic Engagement Training Institute is Sept. 20-22 in the Twin Cities

Discover new civic engagement strategies and discuss pertinent, timely topics related to the field at the Alliance’s upcoming Civic Engagement Training Institute, to be held Sept. 20-22 in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn. The event is co-hosted by Alliance member Family & Children's Service in Minneapolis. The Neighborhood House at the Paul and Sheila Wellstone Center in St. Paul, Minn., is the site for the institute.

Registration is open for the institute, which is free for Alliance and United Neighborhood Centers of America members. Additionally, first-time attendees are eligible for travel stipends.

Participants will learn ready-to-implement methods for empowering the authentic voices of community residents and how to transform them into pioneering voices of influence.

This institute will address additional topics including:
  • how to incorporate civic engagement strategies into current organizational plans;
  • methods for closing racial gaps; and
  • how civic engagement leads to improved educational outcomes.
